FeatureTip: Daily “Me” Log

Jason Bubolz proposed a great little usage tip for chat/IM. In a comment to the first FeatureTip, he suggested filtering out a short list of just your own posts. I think this is a great idea. I use this as well, and for me it solves the one advantage that email has over chat/IM: what did I say to whom and when? Just as Jason suggests, create a simple filter that captures everything you say, on any group channel and any one-to-one chat. Size and position the window to taste. There you have it – a quick and simple way to isolate what you said when.

Now – if only the chat/IM vendors would automatically log filter channels for the end user – it’d be even better! (to Parlano/Microsoft, Jabber, IBM, … everyone … hint, hint, HINT).
